Made My First Windows Movie Maker Video Today
I helped a buddy of mine make a movie using Windows Movie Maker today. He just got back from a Caribbean cruise vacation with his son. He is a single dad who really needs to meet someone badly.
He had a bunch of video clips that he took with his JVC camera. For starters, the JVC camera used a file extension .mod which I was unfamiliar with. I thought we might be up the creek because of the weird file extension. As it turns out, all I had to do was rename each of the video clips to the file extension .mpg for MPEG.
I tried using the automated movie maker function from within Windows Movie Maker. It didn’t work right. I guess that function is meant to be used with photos and not videos. It ended up chopping off each video clip after just about 10 seconds.
I thought I really screwed things up on him. Fortunately it was easy enough to remedy. I just had to create the entire movie from scratch by dragging and dropping each small video clip into the proper order that he wanted.
All in all I was pretty impressed with Windows Movie Maker. I will definitely be using this software again at some point. It is really cool stuff.
